Description


Welcome to the Crankstart Scholarship application form! The Crankstart Scholarship is designed to support students from San Francisco by providing them with the resources they need to earn their Bachelor’s Degree and setting them up for success with their career goals in the future. Students who are awarded this scholarship will receive between $1,500 and $15,000 per year for up to 6 years until they earn their Bachelor's Degree. The amount of the scholarship will be determined by the financial aid you receive, your student aid index (SAI), and the cost of your college.


This application is due by February 22, 2025!

To be eligible for the Crankstart Scholarship, you must:

  • Be a graduating high school senior from Balboa, Galileo, Mission, or Burton High School in the class of 2025
  • Intend to enroll in a postsecondary program at a Bachelor's Degree granting public or non-profit college in Fall 2025
  • Have an unweighted GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Have completed a FAFSA or CADAA application
  • Have an SAI below 10000*
  • Be enrolled full-time
  • Meet the A-G requirement

~ U.S. citizenship is not a requirement to be eligible for this scholarship.

* Find your SAI (Student Aid Index) listed on your FAFSA Submission Summary (FSS) or California Student Aid Report (CalSAR). 


You will be required to submit your:

  • Unofficial High School Transcript
  • FAFSA Submission Summary (FSS) or California Student Aid Report (CalSAR)

Note: You may still fill out the application at this time without these documents, however you will need to upload them by February 22, 2025 to be eligible for the scholarship.

Additionally, please have your college list on hand to enter into the application.
